Why Our Work Matters
Right now, more than 104,000 men, women, and children are waiting for a life-saving transplant in the U.S. Of those, nearly 90,000 are waiting for a kidney—that’s almost 9 out of every 10 people on the list.

Becoming a living donor is one of the most generous acts imaginable. But for many, the cost of living during recovery can be a real obstacle. Healing after surgery can take 6 to 12 weeks—or even longer—and while the donor’s body recovers, the bills don’t stop coming.
